The inter-university degree course offered by the University of Trento with the University of Verona (administrative headquarters) and the University of Modena - Reggio Emilia has been active since the 2021/2022 academic year.

Goal of the course
The degree course aims to prepare professionals capable of developing and managing innovative equipment and services based on information and engineering technologies that support health professionals and patients in the prevention and treatment of diseases. In this regard, knowledge of healthcare organizational models and respect and attention to the person will be central .
What is studied
The classic basic knowledge of engineering and bioengineering training with those of robotics, Artificial Intelligence, remote control and monitoring systems, safety and ethics issues, characterize the two usable educational paths.
The course includes in the third year an application project that involves different disciplines specific to the profile chosen by the student, carried out in collaboration with the industries of the biomedical sector.
The teaching of the course will be in mixed mode (blended) to encourage the participation of students and the interaction between the three universities.
What do you become
The course degree allows you to continue your studies in master's degree courses in Engineering in the fields of Electronic, Computer, Industrial and Biomedical Engineering and among these those provided by the Universities of Trento, Verona and Modena Reggio-Emilia, the graduate will be able to find employment in public companies and private companies in the biomedical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. After passing the state exam, graduates may also enroll in the professional register of biomedical and clinical engineers, section B.

The study plan, in line with the degree class (L8 Informatica), is structured to provide a solid engineering background. The student starting from the second year will have to choose between one of the two curricula available:

- an upper secondary school diploma (or other foreign qualification recognized as suitable)
- adequate preparation in the field of basic mathematics, which will be verified among the initial knowledge.
